Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--7.2, 2.4, 1.1; HindIII--4.2, 3.4, 3.1; BamHI--10.9; PstI--4.1, 3.5, 1.4, 1.0, 0.7; SalI/BamHI--8.0, 2.9. DXS98 shows close linkage to FRAXA (theta = 0.10, LOD score = 17.31). DXS98 is proximal to FRAXA by in situ hybridization. Combined heterozygosity for the polymorphisms detected by 4D-8 (ATCC 57060, 57061), p4D8-B (ATCC 61572, 61573), and p4D8-IV (ATCC 61574, 61575) is 48%. This insert contains some repetitive sequences and requires preannealing when used for Southern blot hybridizations. |
